Erin LeCount delivers a raw relationship reckoning on "Silver Spoon"

London-based singer-songwriter Erin LeCount is back with "Silver Spoon," a new intimate track about jealousy, shame, family, and the messy feelings that can come with growing up different. LeCount wrote and produced the track herself. "Silver Spoon" centers on a relationship caught in an emotionally charged conflict between differing backgrounds and experiences. The song captures the feeling of being brought up differently from someone you love, and the difficult emotions that can come with it.

The dinner table sets the scene for this confrontation, giving the song an immediate, accessible emotional frame. What seems like an ordinary quarrel turns into something much deeper, something that leads to memories, comparisons, expectations, and uncertainty for the future. "Silver Spoon" has an intimate story behind it. It has a particularly personal foundation, she created it in a garden shed and wrote and produced it herself.

LeCount takes an extremely complicated subject and turns it into a song about the uncomfortable truths that can come up between people who care deeply about each other. "Silver Spoon" lives in the messier world of relationships where love and jealousy, shame and unanswered questions can coexist. Erin LeCount's newest book captures that tension in a personal tale about different beginnings, family, and the possibilities that shape a life.
