Mustard Service turns self-destructive romance into a feel-good ride with "Going Nowhere"

Miami-based indie rock band Mustard Service leans into the messy, complicated side of romance on their vibrant new release, "Going Nowhere." The track explores the weird relationship between attraction and self-destructive behavior, infusing a feel-good spirit into a subject that is anything but straightforward, and captures the joy of finding someone who gets your flaws and might even share them.

The lineup of Mustard Service gives the band its collective identity, Marco Rivero on vocals and rhythm guitar, Leo Cattani on keyboards, Adam Perez on drums, Augusto Di Catarina on bass, and Gabriel Marinuchi on guitar. In "Going Nowhere," they tell the story of two people who knowingly enter unhealthy patterns together, with a familiar emotional contradiction at the song's heart.

Adam Perez, Leo Cattani, and Marco Rivero wrote the release, and Chad Copelin produced it, a collaborative effort from the Miami outfit. Mustard Service's "Going Nowhere" is a song that discovers a strange sort of romance in shared imperfections. It reminds us that attraction doesn't always lead to our best decisions, but the willingness to be understood, even at our messiest, can make the journey feel worthwhile.
