Hand Habits confront the pain of letting go on the introspective "Wheel of Change"

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and guitarist Meg Duffy, under her solo project Hand Habits, explores the complex nature of longing and change in the new release "Wheel of Change." Written and produced by Duffy, with additional production from Joseph Lorge, the track explores the emotional struggle of holding on to people, feelings, and moments that can't really be recaptured.

"Wheel of Change" captures a familiar human contradiction, knowing life goes on, and desperately wishing some things could stay exactly as they were. It can be hard to shake a relationship, a particular time of life, a feeling that once made you feel safe, the desire to go back to something familiar. Duffy handles this tension by acknowledging how far the past can reach into the present.

Duffy's decision to marry the song's lyrical themes to its production gives the release an extra dimension. The musical approach was designed to match the song's more forceful edge of longing, emphasizing the tension between the desire to cling to something and the realization that one cannot always bargain with change.

Hand Habits offers a pensive look at the emotional complexities of attachment, with production input from Joseph Lorge. "Wheel of Change" dives into that sticky space between memory and reality, offering a deeply relatable study of what we want to hold onto, despite time's other intentions.
