The Weekend steps back into the spotlight with ''Save Your Tears''

''The Weekend'' returns with "Save Your Tears," a fittingly cinematic expansion of the world surrounding his fourth studio album, ''After Hours''. Starring alongside The Weekend in the video, director Cliqua explores the familiar storyline fans of The Weekend have been following since they first began tuning in to the After Hours cinematic universe.

What resonates about "Save Your Tears" is the contrast. The song has this bright, nearly thoughtful pop sound, but it hides a subtle tension underneath. There is a tone to it, almost regretful in some ways, implying a more reflective state of mind, avoidance meets vulnerability. This duality is where ''The weekend'' excels, with catchy melodies below darker undertones.

When the track debuted at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball last month, it offered another glimpse of its emotional weight before the arrival of its official video. Fully realized, it proves to be a highlight of the ''After Hours'' odyssey.

The Weekend isn't pumping the brakes any time soon either, as the rollout continues months after its March drop. "Save Your Tears" has a dual feel an ending point and a bridge into what's next.
