London's own Saint Agnes take a step further into the shadows with their piercing new single, "The Ghost," a song that flips vulnerability into something throbbing and inevitable. This marks the fourth song to be released from their forthcoming third studio album, Your God Fearing Days Are About To Begin (due May 29 via Spinefarm Records), and is an ambitious, emotionally charged development for the band.
The song, written by Kitty A. Austen and Jon James Tufnell, and produced by Pete Hutchings with the band, thrives on contrast, haunting introspection set against a palette of dark, dancefloor-ready energy.
Austen's vocals have a fragility and defiance at once, gliding over driving rhythms that echo like footsteps in a dimly lit club. There's urgency here, but also release. What starts as a reclusive confession quickly morphs into a cathartic anthem, one that draws you in so deeply you lose yourself while acknowledging your own quiet exterminations.
